Getting Started - Who Will You Invite?
After you decide on the type of book club you want, think about who you will invite to become members.
Naturally, you will want to include those people you know are readers and will find it exciting to come together and discuss the chosen book plus other books they're reading. Avid readers are always looking for someone with whom to share what they’ve been reading!
- Will this be a neighborhood book club sponsored by your homes association? Or for a group of your other friends?
- Are you organizing the book club for a group from your work place?
- Are you planning to organinze a book club for your church members?
- Will you have your book club meet at a neutral site?
- Are you planning to open your book club to the public and include anyone who wants to participate? This could be a little tricky if you’re meeting in members' homes as some might not want to have people they do not know attending.
